Privacy policy
Last updated October 13, 2026
Inbetween is made by Good Enough Labs ("we"). This policy covers the Inbetween app for iPhone. The short version: there's no account, the app doesn't talk to any server of ours, it has no ads, analytics or tracking, and your strips live on your iPhone and in your own iCloud.
What stays on your iPhone and in your iCloud
- Your strips. The 4 photos of each strip, its date and where it came from (the camera or a Live Photo). They're kept in the app and, if iCloud is on for your Apple Account, synced through your private iCloud database so your other devices get them. Apple stores that database; we have no access to it.
- The clip. The camera records 2 seconds of video, without sound. Once the strip is made, the clip is deleted.
- Live Photos. You pick them in Apple's photo picker, and Inbetween receives only the ones you pick. It doesn't ask for access to your photo library. It asks for permission only to add strips to Photos when you save one.
- A few marks in iCloud. Whether you've seen the welcome screens and whether you've used each free strip, so a new iPhone remembers them. They're kept in your iCloud key-value storage.
- Widgets. For the Home Screen widgets, the app keeps small copies of your newest strips on your iPhone, where only Inbetween and its widgets can read them.
All of this, including choosing the 4 photos, happens on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us.
What we don't collect
We have no account system and no servers for the app, so we receive nothing about you: no name, email, photos, location, contacts or usage data. Inbetween has no analytics or advertising SDKs, doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and never sells data.
Others involved
- Apple runs iCloud, the photo picker and the App Store under its own privacy policy. If you subscribe to Inbetween Pro, Apple handles the payment; the app only learns from Apple whether Pro is on. We never see your payment details.
- Instagram (Meta). When you share a strip to Stories, the app hands the image or video to Instagram on your iPhone, and Instagram's terms and privacy policy apply from there. Inbetween sends nothing to Meta on its own.
- Crash reports. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple sends us anonymous crash reports. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Deleting your data
- Delete a strip from its page (the menu → Delete). It's deleted on every device that syncs it.
- Delete everything by deleting the app, then its iCloud data in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage (or Manage Storage) → Inbetween.
- Strips you saved to Photos or shared stay where you put them.
Children
Inbetween is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anyone's data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If the app ever starts sending data anywhere, this policy will say so before that version is released.
